This was a custom Christmas order for a wonderful lady. Her daughter gave me her collection of Hard Rock Cafe t-shirts. I took them, organized them so they flowed the way I wanted. Then cut out rectangles, sewed them together, added batting and a t-shirt fabric on the back. I wanted to keep the quilt simple and comfortable just like the t-shirts themselves. So I decided to just tie the layers together at the intersections, originally with buttons. After looking at the layout I realized I had six shirts that I used the back design in the quilt, leaving the front small design still intact. Since I had six intersections, I thought it would be more interesting to quilt these patches at the corners. It worked out great. Also instead of using binding, I just double topstiched around it. This created a wonderful soft and snuggily blanket. This ended up being only 4×5 but it is perfect for a lap blanket, especially on cold winter nights.
Merry Christmas
