Patchwork denim

I have a great Levi denim jacket. A little big but well worn and comfy. My one concern is the worn collar that is fraying and separating. So I decided to apply a nice piece of blue print fabric to the collar itself. I wanted to keep it with a patch feeling so I cut the fabric with pinking shears.

Then I just appliqued it to the top of the existing collar with a zigzag stitch, leaving the pinked edge showing.    There was also a hole in the back of the jacket so I appliqued a patch in the back as well.

I also had a coordinating white fabric so I appliqued it to the front pockets.   Stitching only around the three side and allowing a hole for the button, keeps the pocket functioning.

Overall I created a cute customized look.
